On-line Privacy Policy


Keeping financial and personal information secure is one of our most important responsibilities. OMEGA Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting the information of our members and other visitors who use our website. We value your trust and handle all personal information with care. As with information that we collect through other means, we use the information you provide on-line to respond to your needs, service your accounts, and provide you with the information about other services


Personal Information refers to any information about you that is personally identifiable to you. Your name, phone number, physical address, and transaction history are examples of information that personally pertains to you. Data refers to other information that we collect through your internet and/or mobile activities or which third parties may collect on your behalf. Such data may or may not be personally identifiable to you. Geolocation data collected from your mobile device when you ask for a location of an ATM near you is personally identifiable when obtained through digital banking.

Below we will outline the ways that we collect data about you:

  • You provide personal information to us- OMEGA collects personal information on-line that you provide to us when you log in, on loan or membership applications that you complete, and when you use our products and services
  • We obtain personal information from others-OMEGA obtains personal information from third parties such as credit bureaus and others to personalize your on-line experience
  • We gather information on-line-Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small data files that are served by our website and stored on your device. Cookies are used to show how you use our site and in some cases to target ads to you on other websites. 


To ensure information remains confidential, OMEGA Federal Credit Union uses encryption technology such as Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to protect information you enter and submit from our website.


Regular Internet email is not secure. You should never provide information that is sensitive or confidential such as your social security number, account number, or PIN numbers. We also ask that you do not send personal or account information through regular e-mail.


Cookies are pieces of information stored directly on the device you are using. Cookies we use do not contain or capture unencrypted Personal Information. Cookies allow us to collect information such as browser type, time spent on the site, pages visited, language preferences, and your relationship with us. We use the information for security purposes, to facilitate navigation, to display information more effectively, to personalize/tailor your experience while engaging with us, and to recognize your device to allow your use of our online products and services. We collect statistical information about the usage of the site in order to continually improve the design and functionality, to monitor responses to our advertisements and content, to understand how account holders and visitors use the site and to assist us with resolving questions regarding the site. We also utilize cookies for advertising purposes. Tracking technologies also used are beacons, tags, pixels, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our website.


Personal information that we collect about you is used to provide you with an optimal on-line experience. We use this personal information to qualify you for products and services that you request, to process your transactions, authenticate your identity, prevent fraud, and to keep your financial transactions secure. 


OMEGA shares your personal information with its affiliates and with select third parties in accordance with the terms in our privacy notice. We may share personal information when required by law or an order of the court. We may also share personal information when we suspect fraud or for risk management purposes. 


We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 18 years old.


OMEGA retains personal information for as long as necessary to provide the products and services for which the information was originally collected, to process and maintain a record of transactions, and as long as necessary for legal and government retention purposes. When the retention period expires, OMEGA will destroy collected data in a manner that will make the data completely unusable.


You may request that we delete certain Personal Information that we have collected from you. We will use reasonable efforts to honor your request, in compliance with applicable laws. Please note, however, that we may need to keep such information as it pertains to legitimate business purposes or to comply with applicable law.  


To provide you with easy access to information, OMEGA Federal Credit Union may provide links to other websites such as mortgage companies, insurance companies, government agencies. These links are provided as a convenience to our members. We do not guarantee or endorse any of the content in these links, and OMEGA Federal Credit Union does not represent either the third party or the member if these two enter into a transaction. The privacy and security policies on these linked websites may differ from those practiced by OMEGA Federal Credit Union. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of all websites you visit, especially before providing any personal non-public information.


Many websites and apps use Google services to improve their content. When they integrate Google services, these sites and apps share information with Google. We use Google Analytics to better understand how users are visiting and using our sites. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. Google Analytics collects the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Users of the OMEGA FCU Mobile Banking App downloaded from the Google Play and the Apple App Store have access to a variety of features, some that may require permissions. Below are the various permissions and what they are used for:

Location  Our Mobile banking app needs to access your location to find the closest branch or ATM in reference to your location 
Browser/device information  Most browsers or devices collect information such as computer type, operating system version, internet browser, and the name and version of the application that you are using 
Camera When utilizing OMEGA’s mobile check deposit feature within the app the system will need access to your device’s camera
Images When you deposit a check with mobile check deposit an image of the check is sent to us, but not stored on your device
User Alerts If you enable alerts, you will receive notifications regarding the transactions and accounts that you specified you would like to be notified about 
Biometrics Enabling access to biometrics and fingerprints stored in your phone will allow you to use these methods to login and access your account


OMEGA maintains social media sites including Facebook, Instagram, and You-Tube. When you post information on OMEGA’s social media pages, it will be subject to the privacy and security requirements of the social media site. When you log in and view OMEGA’s social media pages, we collect information about your activities on these sites.
